The mission of the UNCP Career Center is to provide a comprehensive program of career development services for students and alumni.  We achieve this mission by providing a variety of services and programs to ensure UNCP graduates develop the skills necessary to be successful in the job market. Both corporate and private donations will allow us to increase the number of programs and services we can provide.

Examples of Career Center programs:

  • Career Fairs

UNCP’s Career Fairs are open to all students and alumni.  They are opportunities for students and alumni to find out about internships, part-time and full-time employment, and graduate school programs.  Students who are not graduating are encouraged to attend in order to network and actively engage in career research by talking with graduate/professional schools, company, and organization representatives in attendance.

  • Professional and Career Development Institute

The professional and Career Development Institute (PCDI) is a free, conference style, on-campus event for UNCP students and alumni.  The event is held each spring and includes guest speakers, panels and career-skills workshops.

  • Connect with Braves Networking Nights

Networking events connect students and alumni with professionals in a variety of fields. Attendees build professional relationships and learn about communication in a work setting and career development.

  • Career Quest Learning Community

The Career Quest Learning Community was developed to provide first-year students at UNC Pembroke with opportunities to explore career and major options in an environment focused on professional and personal growth.  The purpose of Career Quest is to guide each student in the community though the process of beginning to develop an individualized, long-term career plan to ensure his/her future career success.  Members take UNIV 1000 and UNIV 1050 together.

  • Business Etiquette Dinner

Each spring semester, we hold a formal etiquette dinner led by a National Certified Business Etiquette Consultant. This very popular event and unique experience provides students with the dining etiquette knowledge required to be confident and successful during business meals and professional encounters.
