Jailbait will focus on academic integrity, addressing the types of academic violations, and how to prevent academic dishonesty. Selected students will participate as the jail inmates and will be labeled as various violations such as plagiarism, fabrication and falsification, pinch hit and etc. In order to be freed the student will have to post bail. In order for the student to post bail they will need to have 3-5 people (who are not in jail) read and sign a pledge acknowledging the ramifications of academic dishonesty while also standing up for academic integrity. If it is an “inmate” first violation they will need 3 people and if it is there second they will need 5 people to take the pledge (in order to make bail.) Along with the written pledge the “inmate” will explain the importance of academic integrity and how it can impact a student.
