In the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, we strive to develop or co-create programs and services where each student can be engaged in an inclusive, respected, and diverse environment. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our students, because we are committed to your overall success!
The Office for Diversity and Inclusion at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke promotes an educational and supportive climate that allows all the diverse members of its community to thrive and succeed. The Office for Diversity and Inclusion achieves its mission by provoking crucial conversations, and collaborating with units on and off campus. Facilitating equity, access, social justice and inclusion is a top priority while empowering students, faculty, and staff to build a diverse and inclusive campus community. We value and honor different cultures, racial/ethnic backgrounds, religions, economic status, age, sexual orientation, abilities and uniqueness of all UNC Pembroke communities. By celebrating our similarities and differences we strive to prepare students, to be current and future leaders, thinkers, and representatives of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in order to be transformative and spread the University’s historical tradition.
We are all pieces of one puzzle that differ in language, age, thinking styles, culture, or physical abilities, but when we come together in unity, the puzzle takes shape and becomes complete.
