Come out and relax in the Hawks Nest, the University Center’s recreation center. Take advantage of our eight bowling lanes, six billiards tables, five HDTVs for video gaming, two ping pong tables, foosball, or just hang out to watch your favorite sporting event with friends. Chess, board and card games are available free of charge from the check-out center with valid student ID for use in the recreation center.
The Hawks Nest is located on the first floor of the University Center. While UNCP students, faculty, and staff receive priority usage, the Hawks Nest is open to all visiting guest. Reservations can be made by calling the recreation center manager at 910.521.6544. Reservations must be made in advance to receive discounted prices. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Billiards, ping pong, and bowling equipment may be rented from the check-out center. Individuals may supply their own equipment with the purchase of a table or lane fee.

Student Bowling: $1.50 per game (shoe rental: $1)
Student Pool: $3 per hour
Community Bowling: $2 per game before 6PM $2.25 per game after 6PM (shoe rental $1)
Community Pool: $4 per hour
Ping Pong: $1 per hour
Foosball: $2 per hour
The bowling lanes are located inside the Hawks Nest. The Hawks Nest bowling lanes feature automatic scorers, bumpers, and glow bowling! Intramural bowling and bowling classes have priority in using the bowling lanes.
Recognized campus organizations can reserve in advance the Hawks Nest services and gaming areas. Lanes are available to residence halls, departments, youth camps, public schools and community support groups, etc. For reservations and discount prices, call 910.521.6544.
The Hawk’s Nest sponsors several promotions each year for faculty, staff, and students including ping pong, bowling, and billiards tournaments, recreational bowling including intramurals and mini leagues. Free play is offered several times a year through the Association of Campus Entertainment and as part of special events such as homecoming week.
